This photo was taken sometime in the Spring of 1955. Ina's mother, Uva Garrison, and one of her sisters, Georgie Garrison, were visiting. This was Uva's only visit to San Mateo to see Ina. Her sister, Georgie, had lived in San Franciso for a couple of years and had been married for a short time to a man named Spike. She returned home after divorcing sometime around fall 1953(?). Debbie is around 2 1/2 years old. Uva had come by train from Missouri. She refused to ever fly during her lifetime. Her reasoning? "If God had wanted people to fly he would have given them wings." What Debbie remembers about the visit is her grandmother making homemade donuts and doing a lot of the cooking. She was a much better cook than Ina :).
